When swamped with problems, it’s so easy to become narrow-sighted focusing on our issues alone and forgetting every good thing God has done for us. It’s so easy to become like the Israelites in the wilderness and to begin questioning God and asking if our prayers are ever heard; it’s so easy to give the … Continue reading Count your blessings
I had just quit my 9-5 to focus on my clothing business. That’s exactly when the pandemic hit, it meant the clothing business had to be on hold; where was I going to get money to get by? Even though I wanted to pursue the strategy business, I felt I needed more time. Around that … Continue reading Patty’s story
Picture this, a person is $22 million in debt and their business is bleeding after a bad year. Then one day a friend thought about them and gave them $5000 after hearing their issues. A client also made a payment of $2 million days after into their bank account. My question to you is, should … Continue reading Gratitude in the midst of storms
There is nothing more frustrating than praying for months, years or even days for one thing in hope, only to be left feeling crushed and without an answer. I recall a moment when I attended a three day church program, to fast and pray about my business amongst other prayers. I was trusting God for … Continue reading Hope Deferred: when nothing seems to be working
"I am because of God!" This short yet powerful statement summarizes my life. Everything I am, everything I do, everything I have been given, every place I have been to, everything opportunity I have been given; it's all by the handiwork of God. Indeed, I have come this far by Grace. I would not be … Continue reading Samuelle’s Story
I don’t remember the exact date when I became ‘born again’. I know a lot of people celebrate that as an anniversary but sadly I can’t recall. What I remember is how I got deeper into His word and that is my testimony. Recently a preacher mentioned something about Hannah that struck me. In 1 … Continue reading Yaa’s Story
At this moment, I knew I needed medication. I self-medicated for a while to no avail.
The period that ensued was one of the hardest years of my life so far. I had signed up for the God dream, which was building church and working in local communities. Yet, I felt let down by God and trapped in a life that I had not signed up for and could not even afford to escape.
While I was sleeping, I felt as if I was falling and in my room (I lived alone) I felt two warm hands on my side holding me and I kept hearing ‘I will uphold you with my righteous right hand’.
He brought people my way who started making me conscious of all the negative scripts I had written about myself and led them to help me change them. He did not take everything away, some I had to face and deal with them.
I had no other options. I was gasping for breath, and had to wait long for that person to return. It felt like the end for me; and, in that moment, I made a silent prayer to God to help me. I did not believe that He would listen, but I was desperate.
Three days later after the last medication, I saw those horrible symptoms no more! No abnormal abdominal pains, no bleeding whatsoever! Till now, those symptoms have never returned.
The journey of faith, or what many prefer to call Christianity, is in itself one of the biggest battles that a person will ever live through. It’s no wonder that Paul the Apostle made reference to it by telling Timothy (his son in faith) to fight the good fight of faith. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight … Continue reading The good fight of faith
I will never forget the fall of 2014. Alone in my car and heart broken I turned up Chris Brown's song "X" as I drove out of a friend's house. I was angry and felt I had had enough of everything a certain girl was doing. With a grin on my face and anger in … Continue reading Moving on with God
Sometimes life really sucks, and when I say really sucks, I mean really sucks: you know, those moments when you mess up things so bad that you wish you could just turn back the hands of time. Yep! That's what I am talking about. So I went through one of those moments—I have actually been … Continue reading Even before you were born
Have you ever told yourself that you will never do something or let something happen to you only to find yourself in the very position you never wanted? I guess we all have. I said to myself that I wasn't ever going to date a girl if I perceived that we will breakup. It’s not … Continue reading Love you, hate you, let’s break up
Hey Akua, thanks for asking such a great question. What I have realised about God is that besides answering our prayers in His own time, He many a times gives us a different answer to the question(s) we asked Him; but since we are usually so bent on hearing a particular answer, we fail to … Continue reading Why does God answer prayers in His own time?
This is painting of a young girl who was pronounced dead a myriad times, as well as incapable of having a normal life (should she survive) by her doctors. She was born at five months and is a living testimony: thanks to the prayers of her family and others who stood by them in prayer. Here, she is seen holding the index finger of her mother, a gesture that proved she still had life within her, and to the left of the painting stands Jesus: He came to give her life at the point where all seemed hopeless.
VersesRomans 1:18-20For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the … Continue reading Understanding God
