A letter of encouragement to my creative self (by Miss Amofa)

This year, I made a decision to love myself more, to own my truth and appreciate my journey so far. So on Val’s day, I bought a card for myself from Yobbings (they have the most amazing cards but can someone tell them to make different sizes so that those of us who like to elaborate can have more room for that? 😂🤣😂) to give myself some love. To anyone out there who might need some reassurance to believe in themselves, this is for you.

Letter to my 21 year old self

At 21, you have no clue what your future could possibly hold. You don’t have the slightest idea that you will discover your gifts and purpose in life through the most bizarre circumstances seven years later. Dela, you might have never thought that you will inspire and influence people through your works as an artist, designer and an advocate for purpose. Perhaps, you didn’t think that someday you will be sharing your faith in God with the world and the many miracles He’s done in your life.

Running with the wolves

Have you ever wondered why people visit zoos? Think about it. Is it just to admire works of nature or to marvel at God’s handiwork? Do we go to the zoo just to hear lions roar and to see monkeys swing from tree to tree? Yes! That’s exactly what we do…but why?

There is the simple reason. Every creature, object, mountain or work of nature designed by God serves a purpose. And you know, we like these creatures who are below us are exactly the same—we were designed for a purpose.

Interview with Adukwei

Day in and out, sicknesses, accidents and other mysterious causes snatch the lives of our family members and friends, leaving us empty, hopeless and sometimes very mad at God. The commonest questions that floods the minds of the bereaved are, “God, why did this happen?” […]

Interview with Selorm

Every now and then, we hear of a young adult or teenager who committed suicide because they couldn’t handle the social pressures that came their way. The sad thing is, many of them never tell anyone about their struggles and their desires to end their […]

We are all in need

I check my social media accounts everyday and many people have a wise saying or two, some, if you read deeply between the lines are birthed out of hate, sadness or a difficult moment. Some also in trying to get their daily fix of joy, post an image and hope the comments and likes can liven them up. We all know or can relate because we have either lived through this or know a friend who has.

When darkness falls

A couple of months back during a spontaneous worship session I wrote the words below. Through it all, the pain and hurt/ When I am low and covered in dirt/ I will sing your praise/ For I know you are with me/ With me even […]

What is love?

As common as this word is, many have not an idea what it truly means. And as much as we tell each other “I love you”, we often times get confused as to what we are really talking about. And the reason is simple, love […]

Hidden Sins and Temptations

The topic of sin is very broad—simply because there are a host of sins—and truly whenever many hear it preached, they think about the quintessential “bad boy or girl” who sins greatly. Most often, people who engage in freshly professions like prostitution and so forth […]

Moving on with God

I will never forget the fall of 2014. Alone in my car and heart broken I turned up Chris Brown’s song “X” as I drove out of a friend’s house. I was angry and felt I had had enough of everything a certain girl was […]

Unquenchable vengeance

At the climax of any emotional hurt—the point where we can no longer bear the memories of pain that a person has placed us through—twisted fantasies and dark vengeful thoughts erupt within our minds. Alone by ourselves, we visualise the gratification we would receive by […]

Unforgivingness

I never realised how much bearing grudges could really screw me up, till doing so left me reminiscing and regretting my actions. Little did I know till I wrote this, that one act of unforgivingness can lead to a chain reaction of problems: and many […]
