Medium: Acrylic and pencil on canvas.

Dimensions: 50x50cm

Year: 2017

Classification: Painting

This painting was created in honour of a mother who stayed commited to her marriage through thick and thin (symbolised by day and night as well as hills and valleys in the background.) Her scroll and veil are a symbol of mystery and secrecy. They symbolise all the things she kept in her heart through the ups and downs: family happenings and secrets that could have divided the home should she have opened up to the wrong people. The river at the back symbolises a journey. A journey from the bad times to the good times. The flowers symbolise an act of celebration.
