Polypropylene sacks, inner tubes

104 x 134 in

My process involves weaving tapestries from discarded inner tubes and polypropylene sacks, focusing on upcycling materials from vulcanizer shops.

Oyigiyigi means "Great and Mighty" in Yoruba, spoken in southwestern Nigeria, Benin, and Togo.

Inspired by Ewe and Ga naming traditions, I name my works based on their creation context, such as moments of joy or contemplation. I use Yoruba names due to their connection with the Ga tribe and explore Igbo names for their shared depth.
