Inner Tyre Rubber Tubes and Rivets on PPR pipe

78 x 81 in

My creative process involves weaving techniques to craft tapestries from discarded inner tubes, emphasizing upcycling by repurposing materials sourced from vulcanizer shops.

Olupamo, meaning "Our keeper" in Yoruba, reflects the naming traditions that inspire me. Being partly Ewe and Ga, I use these cultural practices to name my works based on the emotions and circumstances surrounding their creation, such as joy, gratitude, or contemplation. I began incorporating Yoruba names due to their connection to the Ga tribe and later explored Igbo names for their shared depth and meaning.
