She told me to pray so that if ever there was a vacancy, she would help me get it. We waited for a long time and no vacancy arose, but she gave me the opportunity to start volunteering there.
I was planning to become a drama teacher and had secured a teacher training institution after my final year. I could not see myself anywhere else, and I just settled into thinking that this was a good plan for my life.
After university, I was posted as a teacher to a remote village for national service. Teaching kids who were going through tough challenges changed my perspective and gave me purpose.
The job market was not so welcoming, either. The response was always, “We’ll call you back,” but I never got the call.
I cried out to God, "Lord, this is a job you blessed me with. I am trying so hard but why are my efforts not being recognized?" I prayed for another job.
The period that ensued was one of the hardest years of my life so far. I had signed up for the God dream, which was building church and working in local communities. Yet, I felt let down by God and trapped in a life that I had not signed up for and could not even afford to escape.
I was never going to get an employment offer because my degree did not match the qualifications they required.
At 8:15 pm Continental European time,I received a strong impression in my heart that I had lost my mum, and almost immediately the Holy Spirit asked me “Will you trust me?”
All through primary to JSS , I was always sacked for school fees. God showed me grace by giving me favour before my teachers and school authorities.
I was barely struggling to keep my head above waters financially when i received messages from my landlords. I live in Ghana but my mum stays in Nigeria. Nevertheless; both rents are my responsibility.
