When swamped with problems, it’s so easy to become narrow-sighted focusing on our issues alone and forgetting every good thing God has done for us. It’s so easy to become like the Israelites in the wilderness and to begin questioning God and asking if our prayers are ever heard; it’s so easy to give the … Continue reading Count your blessings
Let me start by saying: Money comes into our lives to fulfill a purpose. The mistake we make is by thinking money is all about us, that is, for our enjoyment and benefit. Money is spiritual, money is power and it is given to those who have said yes to a specific assignment here on … Continue reading Money isn’t just for you…the wealth you seek isn’t all about you

What are the kindest words you have ever heard? I don’t know about you, but some—not all—of the kindest words I have heard came from relationships that are now distant, broken or gone soar. This however didn’t and can’t change the impact of those words. Words of encouragement from a close friend, words of affection … Continue reading AWWWW – what are the kindest words you have ever heard?
Picture this, a person is $22 million in debt and their business is bleeding after a bad year. Then one day a friend thought about them and gave them $5000 after hearing their issues. A client also made a payment of $2 million days after into their bank account. My question to you is, should … Continue reading Gratitude in the midst of storms
There is nothing more frustrating than praying for months, years or even days for one thing in hope, only to be left feeling crushed and without an answer. I recall a moment when I attended a three day church program, to fast and pray about my business amongst other prayers. I was trusting God for … Continue reading Hope Deferred: when nothing seems to be working
Earlier this month, I designed a Mother's Day card for family, friends and clients. It was symbolic in nature—a mother in red surrounded by her kids, depicting the hen-like protection a mother gives to her young. Hills and valleys in the background depicting the low times and high times when she has to be with … Continue reading What makes a good father?
So there was this one time I sat in church totally bored and distracted. I was going through a trying period of a sort and felt disconnected from the sermon. My mind was racing and in search of answers. My work, relationships and life in totality just seemed a mess, and I wondered if I … Continue reading What is your biggest proof of God’s existence?
As common as this word is, many have not an idea what it truly means. And as much as we tell each other "I love you", we often times get confused as to what we are really talking about. And the reason is simple, love is spiritual, it’s pure and from God: it’s a being … Continue reading What is love?
I check my social media accounts everyday and many people have a wise saying or two, some, if you read deeply between the lines are birthed out of hate, sadness or a difficult moment. Some also in trying to get their daily fix of joy, post an image and hope the comments and likes can liven them up. We all know or can relate because we have either lived through this or know a friend who has.
So some time back I went for this awesome Christian program. The worship was incredible and at one point, everyone was in the Spirit, praying in tongues as the worship went on and all. You will think that I was in tune with the congregation, but no; I, in the midst everything taking place, was in two different worlds.
Let me be real. There was this really pretty girl standing a couple of aisles away from me—I can still see her face. And she just like me, wasn’t totally lost in worship like everyone else. She was, however, an usher and I, just a single guy looking for a lady. The struggle was real. #singleboystruggles
The first question is what makes you choose to trust people? Why do you trust God, your mum or me (to a degree)? I believe you trust us because we probably lived up to something we said we will do. This, however, is only one level of trust. There are various levels up this mountain … Continue reading Q&A: How can you make your partner trust you more besides opening up to him or her?
I have been thinking about the subject of fear lately and how this affects the life of a creative entrepreneur. We all have our fears, but many times never sit down to analyze and battle these fears. We just accept them as ours and allow them to determine the course of our lives. In this … Continue reading The four mountains of entrepreneurial fears
After the release of my book, The End of Abuse, I felt led to interview certain individuals who had either experienced abuse and been healed from the trauma; or were in the occupation of caring for abuse victims one way or the other. The reason is, people truly are in need of answers; and it's … Continue reading Interview with BAABA DADZIE (on Abuse, Counselling and Mental health)
Where does the concept of the starving artist come from? Why do most creatives rant about not working for free? Why do most creatives give up their crafts and go look for a “real job”? How have some succeeded and built world-class empires?

Among the conversations that started as a result of my previous post, one of my readers shared her thoughts with me via WhatsApp; so I decided to respond to it as well as address other concerns.
When a guy is hesitant to commit, it literally means he has one foot out the door. He may have committed to dating to see if certain things will change but when it comes to marriage, he is uncertain.....
Whenever many people hear about abuse of boys and men, they simply think of the times they read news items about young boys being molested by older men or how men have been abused by others. This, however, isn’t all there is to the subject. I dare say a lot of guys have been abused and don’t even know it. This is because of their narrow perception of what abuse is. The saddest part about this side of male abuse I will like to share is, that many men are told to be strong and act tough about a lot of things they go through. From childhood, they are taught to be gangster, tough, hard, you name it. In some cases, some are ‘‘praised’’ even whiles being abused. Let me share some personal experiences with you, so you better understand what I mean.
I accidentally damaged my phone some time ago. It slipped out of my hands and cracked upon hitting the ground. To my dismay, it became unresponsive. The only thing I could pretty much do was receive incoming calls via an earpiece. This unfortunate incident helped me assess the use of my phone. For the past few years, WhatsApp as well as other social media platforms has become my default mode of communication; a development which I believe appeals to other phone users as social media platforms provides easy and convenient ways for correspondence. How was I going to survive with a damaged phone whose only use was to receive calls?
Have you ever wondered why people visit zoos? Think about it. Is it just to admire works of nature or to marvel at God’s handiwork? Do we go to the zoo just to hear lions roar and to see monkeys swing from tree to tree? Yes! That’s exactly what we do…but why? There is the simple reason. Every creature, object, mountain or work of nature designed by God serves a purpose. And you know, we like these creatures who are below us are exactly the same—we were designed for a purpose.
Over the past couple of years, one of the biggest conversation topics online and in religious institutions is the topic of same-sex relationships. (The reasons are beyond the scope of this article.) One thing for sure, however, is that there are two sides to this conversation, those for and against it. Back in school, and … Continue reading Hashtag Queer / Open-minded
At 21, you have no clue what your future could possibly hold. You don’t have the slightest idea that you will discover your gifts and purpose in life through the most bizarre circumstances seven years later. Dela, you might have never thought that you will inspire and influence people through your works as an artist, designer and an advocate for purpose. Perhaps, you didn’t think that someday you will be sharing your faith in God with the world and the many miracles He’s done in your life.
The journey of faith, or what many prefer to call Christianity, is in itself one of the biggest battles that a person will ever live through. It’s no wonder that Paul the Apostle made reference to it by telling Timothy (his son in faith) to fight the good fight of faith. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight … Continue reading The good fight of faith
A couple of months back during a spontaneous worship session I wrote the words below. Through it all, the pain and hurt/ When I am low and covered in dirt/ I will sing your praise/ For I know you are with me/ With me even when I can't feel you/ With me even when I … Continue reading When darkness falls

The topic of sin is very broad—simply because there are a host of sins—and truly whenever many hear it preached, they think about the quintessential "bad boy or girl" who sins greatly. Most often, people who engage in freshly professions like prostitution and so forth come to mind as well. The topic of sin, however, … Continue reading Hidden Sins and Temptations
I will never forget the fall of 2014. Alone in my car and heart broken I turned up Chris Brown's song "X" as I drove out of a friend's house. I was angry and felt I had had enough of everything a certain girl was doing. With a grin on my face and anger in … Continue reading Moving on with God
At the climax of any emotional hurt—the point where we can no longer bear the memories of pain that a person has placed us through—twisted fantasies and dark vengeful thoughts erupt within our minds. Alone by ourselves, we visualise the gratification we would receive by watching the people who hurt us crumble under the weight … Continue reading Unquenchable vengeance
A couple of years ago, I "rushed" into a relationship because I was scared someone else would have her. I was in love, we were worlds apart and I couldn't bear the thought of losing my young love to someone else. So I proposed though I knew it was too early and ended up spending … Continue reading The right reasons to enter a relationship
After posting my article titled "scientific proof of God", I got a comment from a man I will simply like to call Mr Atheist. This new post you are about to read is my response to his comment below. OMG! do you realize how condescending you are being? I’m sorry, but you need to stop … Continue reading Open response to Mr Atheist
Over the past couple of months I have been asking a lot of Christians this question. And I must say, the responses have been nothing but amazing: a blend of spiritual anecdotes, awkward moments and bible discussions. I did realise, however, that the common responses I received were conclusions these people had made after receiving … Continue reading Why do you believe in God?
Everybody's got their issues 'man': maybe a loved one is disrespecting them; maybe a boyfriend messed up or just got another girl pregnant; maybe they are broke and are about to be evicted or maybe, their cat just died and they can't get over the pain. People have got their issues and no matter how … Continue reading Sharing your problems
Over the years I have watched many relationships suffer because of two words,"poor communication." This is simply when both parties harbour questions, hurts and pains in their hearts and act on them without ever sitting with their spouses to tell them about the things eating them up. You hear statements like "she has been doing … Continue reading We don’t talk anymore
Every relationship comes with it ups and downs: there are the high points and the low points, the moments of joy and the moments of pain, the moments of love and the moments where hatred briefly runs its course. Meeting and spending time with a person you love, is one of the best things that … Continue reading Relationship Vultures
Think about it! You go to church on Sunday, go through the whole week indulging in your own secret sins and forgetting practically everything the preacher said—except the jokes; and come back the next week to listen to another sermon you will forget weeks later. Truth be told, this does happen to a lot of … Continue reading What’s the point of Christianity?
I never realised how much bearing grudges could really screw me up, till doing so left me reminiscing and regretting my actions. Little did I know till I wrote this, that one act of unforgivingness can lead to a chain reaction of problems: and many sour friendships. Till God finally got—or rather grabbed—my attention, I … Continue reading Unforgivingness
Sometimes life really sucks, and when I say really sucks, I mean really sucks: you know, those moments when you mess up things so bad that you wish you could just turn back the hands of time. Yep! That's what I am talking about. So I went through one of those moments—I have actually been … Continue reading Even before you were born
So a friend asked me this question a while back during a bible study: should we pray for people—family and friends: people who are really dear to us—that do us great evil? If we were all to be honest with each other, you will agree with me that the first human reaction to a hurt … Continue reading To bless or curse Mr Evil
