Psalm 34:17-19 – The Lord is Our Strength. “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. ”
I want to share with you a testimony of how I got a scholarship to study in Mauritius. In 2012 I had to move to Benguela from Luanda ( Angola’s provinces). I went there to study for about 5 years . When I finished my secondary school, I applied to a medical university in my country but unfortunately I wasn’t admitted so I had to go to a private school where I was doing Computer Science . During that time I didn’t want to move because I’d have to make new friends and so on but I didn’t have a choice. When I was in my 3rd year, one of our lecturers, his name is Eng. Catarina, (May God bless him ) told us about scholarships for Angolans. I was skeptical because all the application process was online. I had a friend who kept encouraging me to apply . The good thing is, that semester, my grades were excellent. I believe God was preparing me for the gift He had for me.
My university selected me to be one of the students to represent the school for this scholarship. I didn’t tell anyone because I didn’t want any distractions as the Bible says : “what no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human has conceived are the things God has prepared for those who love Him.” I only told my sister about this and she gave all the support in prayers . I went through 4 or 5 stages for the scholarship. Additionally this was a very sad period in my life , it had been 1 year after my young brothers passing, and this affected me . I really needed to be far from everything, I wanted to find myself again, a reason to keep going . Since I was young I always prayed for a scholarship to study outside and learn how to speak English.
The scholarship process was so long and stressful but Glory be to God , in June 2016, I got admitted to the school. Everyone testified that God had indeed answered my prayers . I graduated in February 2020. God prepared this scholarship for me as a full gift. I did not pay for anything- accommodation , food, transport and even a two way ticket back home for holidays every year was granted to me . With all this I have learnt that God is good and we should not doubt His ways . He knows better the plans He has for our lives . If there is something you have been praying for and it seems you haven’t got an answer, don’t stop, keep praying with faith .
